Picturesque in parts, depends on time of year and what you are after. Take the road down to Watergate Bay. Some quieter beaches. Busy in summer with suffers, stags and hens. Beaches a bit crowded. Good base for exploring. Good fun though.

Very nice place to spend a lazy long weekend. Do a ghost tour. Sit in a pub near the river. Drink tea.
Birmingham, why do people take the mick out of you? You have changed, you have evolved, you have been reborn. You are not as crap as you were. OK so your not the most amazing place on Earth but you do have lots going for you. Be proud of your accents. Be proud of Brum. I wouldn’t reccomend a holiday there mind you. You could have a fun weekend break though.
Paris it’s a big place. Plan your time there or your feet will ache. Stayed once near the Eifel Tower, and once in Montmartre. For me Montmatre wins. A great place to wander around and if you get good sunshine, then head for the big church and sit on the steps listening to the guitar playing buskers. Very nice.
You want atmospheric scenery? Stay in the Old Town? You want seedy and fun? Stay in New part? Great atmosphere? Go at Christmas? Late nights boozing and people watching? You guessed it, summer.
mmmm….warm wine sipped while aimlessley wandering through the orange streets on a winter’s night. Being drawn into strange bars and restaurants by the glow from the candles in the windows. Oh yeah, Prague, I have happy memories of you my friend.
Sicily was scorching. Go in August and you will get burnt, I don’t care how dark your skin is. Scenary was stunning. Dry scorched earth, mountains, sea, golden sand. Food was great, pizza and ice ceram to live for. If you want a great time in a great location, then go now. Not lively mind you so if it’s clubs and partying you wanyt try somewhere else. Here is a site for you to get some more info about Sicily from.
The Brussels Jazz Marathon 2009, was great. 3 days of music, sitting in the sun, and sampling Belgian beer. Fantastic. The city is great too, nice and compact and very picturesque. Do it.
I went to Milan. It was great. Milan gets a bit of a bad press sometimes as a little bit boring. Far from it. Hook up with some locals like I did and you’ll have a ball. Nice compact city. Air conditioned underground system was wort a visit just to cool down. Relax in the park. It’s great. Here’s a guide for you http://www.lonelyplanet.com/italy/milan.
Have you been to London? Do you know that if you have visited there as a tourist then you have probably seen more of the sites that a Londoner.
Londoners always seem to rush about, busy working and on days off just want to stay local. Who fancies going back in to Central London on the weekend after spending all week commuting there?
Such a shame isn’t it as there is so much to see.
The solution. Petition the mayor, Boris Johnson, to make London the only City in the world where people work a two day week, but get paid the same amount as the rest of the country. A 5 day weekend sounds so good. Obviously the economy might suffer, but let’s face it, it is suffering anyway, a bit more wouldn’t make too much difference sureley. Or even better how about the Bank of England subsidising it. They have pumped loads into the economy, how about pumping it directly into your wallet?
I’m up for it. Are you?
